Soluvlies is the water soluble nonwoven stabilizer that supports your ideas both as a basis for embroidery and as a
support material for new creative techniques; Soluvlies is very versatile.
Soluvlies is designed to be washed without leaving traces and melts in cold water and at temperatures up to 25°- 30°C.
This feature is very useful for all processes where Soluvlies is necessary during processing but then must
disappear.
The special properties of Soluvlies make it possible to make very refined embroidery on transparent fabrics and even embroidery without
use of fabric as basic material (such as lace). The result is very clean and without jagged edges.
With lace, for a clean result, use two layers of Soluvlies. To embroide transparent or very fine fabrics place the
external fabric between two layers of Soluvlies. Then it is enough to wash it away, it melts in water very easily. The CRAZY technique
is relicable only thanks to Soluvlies (more information on the back of the page).
Soluvlies is ideal for creating "crash" fabrics, in combination with VLIESOFIX® that stabilizes so
permanent result (more information on the back of the page).

THE WATER-SOLUBLE STABILIZER

STEP BY STEP:
1. Place two layers of Vliesofix® (without paper) on the reverse of the fabric, then add a layer of Soluvlies.
2. Sew in parallel lines (for example at a distance of about 1 cm) or free-handed.
3. Adjust steam iron on the maximum value, use steam holding the iron just above the Soluvlies and "librate"
without resting the iron to the fabric - do not iron! Soluvlies will contract, withdrawing the fabric and generating
the "crash" effect. When the fabric stops withdrawing the process is finished. The size of the "status crash" is
determined by the type of stitching: A uniform "fall effect" is obtained by sewing with parallel seam lines;
sewing the fabric in a cross or random way will create an irregular crash effect.
4. Vaporize the tissue 2-3 times on each side.
5. The crashing fabric so made must be cooled for a minimum of 1 hour, then the Soluvlies should be rinsed
several times and made to dry.
6. The Vliesofix® blocks work in the desired crash condition permanently.
HOW DO YOU USE THE TECHNOLOGY PATCHWORK?
1. First put a layer of Soluvlies, then place on it the textile material (textiles, yarns, ribbons, laces, etc.).
2. Place another layer of Soluvlies on the top and fix it with pins.
3. Sew the two layers with sewing machine, parallel or casual - everything is possible.
4. Then rinse off the Soluvlies. The result you will get is the exclusive fabric created by you in a unique look
and unrepeatable.
